Picture Perfect Birthday – Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

In Birthday by Emma Goddard16 Comments

Welcome to this month Artisan Blog Hop! You may have hopped on over from the lovely Elizabeth Price over in the USA or joined with me, either way a very warm welcome. This month we are featuring the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set and coordinating Designer Series Papers. I started designing these cards using four of the core colours from this suite and a cup of coffee on my desk! The cup was a Christmas gift from my very good friend Sarah and she know me so well as I love the watercolour designed and gold sparkles! which inspired these backgrounds of these cards.

I have drawn a diagonal line with the Aqua Painters on each of the pieces of watercolour cardstock with Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach or Berry Berry Burst and then filled in the bottom section of the card.

Once the backgrounds were dry, I have then added one of the Painted with Love Gold Vinyl Stickers. The circle inside is from the DSP and punched out with the 2″ circle punch. The other circles in gold glimmer, berry burst and Lemon Lime yardstick are punched with the 1″ circle, the scattered circles were inspired by the photo side of the DSP. To complete this card I have added a wrap of the gold Metallic Thread which had been held on with the sentiment and Metallic Enamel Shape – functional & pretty!

This next card focused more on the pattered papers. I firstly stamped the sparkles from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set over the background in Versamark and then emboss with the gold powder. I have then stamped the large ‘HAPPY’ sentiment onto the DSP and embossed this in gold, the letters have been individually cut out and mounted onto the card with the Foam Adhesive Strips. To finish this card I have added a little more of the metallic thread and the Metallic sequins.

This is a similar layout as the first card using the circle punches to scatter these down the card, again using the 2″ and 1″ circle punches, and layering up using dimensionals to add extra depth to the card.

All the gold embossing was completed as the first step to creating this card. I firstly stamped the sentiment, then the random triangles (from the Happy Celebrations set) & also positioned the strips of gold glimmer to be able to add the flames. This was all stamped in versamark and embossed before the glimmer, sequins and ribbons were added with the bow.

Finally I have coordinating envelopes to match this set, the paper size is 4.5″ x 6″ and this has been added onto the back of the envelopes with a gold embossed bow to coordinate with the card.
