Inspire.Create Colour Challenge #001

Welcome to the very first Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge! I am so thrilled to have been chosen to be part of this challenge design team.

Hannah McCurley has gathered a fabulous list of designers who will all be sharing projects with you each fortnight, and the best bit is you can play along too!

I am excited to show you my first project for the Inspire.Create Stamping Challenge #001, which is a colour challenge….I LOVE a challenge, whether it is a colour, sketch or theme. They are not always the easiest thing to do, however I find that they give me real focus and they stop me trying to reach for everything in my craft room! They can also be a good place to start to help you out if your mojo has wondered off?! as it sometimes like to do lol.

When I first received the challenge, I was loving the colour combo but I have to admit it wasn’t the easiest of colours as my desk is currently filled with autumn and Christmas crafting. I am in the middle of several projects but mainly getting prepared for my upcoming all day event in early Oct.

So after some thought, I decided to use one of my new favourite Christmas bundles for some non Christmas creations, as you can see I have used the Hometown Greeting Edgelits Dies for a new home card.

The Eastern Medallions dies make a detailed background for any kind of card

The front layer of the card has been cut to 14.3cm x 10cm and then die cut using 3 of the Eastern Medallions Thinlits. These dies have SO many different combinations for mixing and matching together, I personally think they are really great value for money and worth having in your stash. I have layered the Calypso Coral card stock behind the front layer for this to peek through.

Once the card was made, I then went on to add a coordinating tag which would be perfect for adding to a bunch of flowers or gift. The base of the tag has been cut using the layering circle framelits with the same pattern of Eastern Medallion die cut on the top to coordinate.

Inspire.Create Challenge new home card using the Hearts Come Home bundle, perfect for any occasion!

Behind the house is a touch of coordinating ribbon, at for the tag I have also used the Whisper White 1/8″ sheer ribbon, this is great for tags being so slim it ties through the top of a tag perfectly.

Thats it from me for today, please be sure to pop on over to the Inspire Create Challenge blog and see all our amazing Design Team Members and why not play along too?!

New challenges are set every fortnight on a Wednesday, but more details and guidelines can be found over on the blog. You can also grab this badge, add it to you own side bar and share the fun with others.

  1. Love how you’ve used the Eastern Medallions dies for this card and teamed with the little house die, very clever! Great tag to match too :-)
