Party Panda

Happy Boxing Day! Hope you are having a lovely time what ever you may be up to.

How cute is this Panda?!! On Christmas Eve I shared a video over on my Facebook page making this card (video below), I have only just got my hands on this set and it is one you can earn during the Sale-A-Bration period (from 3rd Jan to 31st March) for every £45 spend you can choose a FREE item or for a £90 spend you can choose two items or a higher value (Level 2) item. I think these Party Panda’s are going to be a huge hit!?

As I mentioned above, this set only arrived just before Christmas, so this is the first card I have made with this set, but there will be lots more to come!

This card was also my first chance to have a go at using the the Brushos and I really like them! So if you have not yet seen or heard of Brushos you may well be wondering what are they?? They are watercolour ink crystals (a very fine powder) which make bright a colourful watercolour washes, this set comes with five colours – Brilliant Red, Yellow, Gamboge (Orange), Prussian Blue (Very dark blue) & Moss Green.

To get this effect I washed the watercolour card with water and then gently tapped on the powder (through a pieced hole in the lid) I added a little of the red to the top and some of the yellow to the bottom of the washed area and then gently went back over with the aqua painter to mix the colours a little more. For this background I have used the Brilliant Red and Yellow.

It was so quick to get such a vibrant background and will be giving the rest of the colours a possible techniques a go over the Christmas break, and I’ll be sure to share with you all.

The Panda was stamped on Whisper White and then fussy cut out and added with dimentionals over the top of some ruffled ribbon. If you would like to see the Brushos in action and this card made in full you can catch up on the video here.

Hope you have enjoyed this card, thanks for stopping by.
