Stampin’ Creative – April Showers

In Beautiful You by Emma Goddard4 Comments

Welcome to this months Blog Hop and the theme is April Showers! I can’t wait to see everyone has come up with. We are also joined this month by fellow Artisan and friend Rhoda MacPherson – Welcome!

I have been thinking ahead about this theme for a while and knew I was going to use the Sunshine and Rainbow Stamp Set and/or Dies just now sure what I was going to make. The rainbow was the first part of this card that I made and the colours are Real Red, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Pool Party with Glimmer clouds for plenty of sparkle!

The rainbow is held together between the clouds, they each have a front and a back to sandwich the rainbow in-between.

To add plenty of demotion to this card I have stuck this onto a strip of window sheet and held it on with a few mini glue dots. This strip of window sheet has then been stuck to the inside of the card. You may get this inside an envelope but I’m not sure how well it would travel!? So you may need more of a slim box style envelope to gently fit the rainbow inside without creasing the window sheet too much so it still pops back off the card once it has been received.

For this photo I have flipped up the rainbow out of the way so you can see the card front using the gorgeous lady from the Beautiful You Stamp Set. I have stamped in Memento Ink & coloured with the Blends (Pool Party Dark and Light, Daffodil Delight Dark & Light, Light Crumb Cake and Light Old Olive, & the Colour Lifter)

I have coloured the dress lightly with a touch of the light Daffodil Delight pen and blended with the Colour lifter. To complete her look, I have then added the polka dots in the Dark Daffodil Delight.

You could also stamp this image in Black Archival ink onto Shimmery White cardstock and colour with your inks and an aqua painter for an alternative colouring technique.

Please be sure to check out the full list of blogs and hop around to check out all the April Showers inpiration we have to share with you- Enjoy! Have a fabulous weekend.

  1. What a fab pop up or pop out design! Also love how you’ve used the epoxy shapes over stamped raindrops!

  2. Stunning! I love her dress! … and I love the fun detail of the hanging rainbow and clouds. Very clever! xx
