Stampin’ Creative – Cooking up a Storm

In Easter by Emma Goddard16 Comments

Hello and welcome to this months Stampin’ Creative Hop. Today we are cooking up a storm, I decided to interpret this theme in to anything food related and therefore I am sharing an Easter Egg card.

The background to this card is using the Beautiful Springtime Foil. Today is your last chance to be able to get you hands on a pack of this paper, if you spend £45 through my online store you can add this item for FREE. Today is my first of my all day events and the lovely ladies who are joining me for a full day of crafting today will be receiving a pack of this in their kit, I shall share pictures and updates from this event after the second one running on the 13th April, so I don’t spoil the surprise for everyone else.

Ok, so onwards with this card for today. I have cut the background and sponged with Berry Burst and then added a ruffle of the coordinating seam binding ribbon with some mini sequin trim. The Easter Egg was created as a separate piece and then added as the last element.

I stamped the egg image from Hello Easter in Berry Burst and hand cut out. The flowers are from the Beautiful Bouquet and stamped in Indigo Island, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party, the ‘leaves’ behind this flower are actually another flower, just stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and added behind the smaller flower.

To achieve the stitching I have used the pierce mat to add the button holes and then used a tapestry needle with the white bakers twine and hand stitched the 3 flowers. I have tied them off on the back and added a dimensional to help hold this in place as well as raise this from the card.

The leaves are also from this set. I have cut them in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, but added some ink for shading in the same colour. I have then tucked these behind the flowers. You may be also able to spot some of the Touches of Nature leaves and small flower, these are wooden elements which are wood on one side and light-white wood wash on the other – this means I have been able to added coordinating colours with a dauber.

Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend, whatever you maybe up to. If you have followed the Stampin’ Creative Hop before you will know we have previously had ‘next buttons’ but we have changed the way this is set up so just jump on over to the next person on the list and you will be able to hop around to everyone from here – Enjoy all the inspiration from everyone ‘cooking up a storm’

Hugs – Emma xo
