Be Inspired with a layout which always works

This month the Be Inspired Team are sharing creative ideas using a layout that always works. If you are ever short on inspiration for handmade cards, this simple three panel card layout is a reliable go to.

When I need a quick but effective design, I reach for this layout. It allows you to break up your card into sections, making it easy to combine stamped images, colour, and a sentiment without overthinking the composition. Each panel can feature a different element, which helps create balance while keeping the design visually interesting.

For this card, I used the Flowers Fair background stamp. It is a beautiful option for full backgrounds, but it is also versatile enough to cut apart and use individual flowers for more detailed designs. I coloured the image using blends in Crisp Cantaloupe, Peaceful Pine, Hydrangea Hue, and added Golden Glow to the centres of the smaller flowers to bring everything together.

The sentiment is from the Phrase and Frames set, available in the May to August 2026 Catalogue. One of my favourite techniques for adding impact is heat embossing in white on Basic Black cardstock. It creates a crisp, high contrast finish that really makes the sentiment stand out.

To finish the card, I added a linen thread bow and a few Peaceful Pine Dots for subtle texture and detail.

If you are looking for an easy card making idea that still feels polished, this three panel layout is a great one to keep in your toolkit.
