Be Inspired – Floral Fun

In Flowers by Emma Goddard4 Comments

This month the Be Inspired Team are sharing Floral Fun ideas to inspire you.

I’d firstly like to extend a very warm welcome to some new members of the Be Inspired Team. Andrea Sargent’s first hop was last month but I would like to officially give her a shout out and welcome her! We also have Annette Ball and Lynn Cheesmur joining us. Delighted to have you all join us and can’t wait to see what you have created. All the links for the Blog Hop are at the end of my post, so you can click on the each of these links and see all our Be Inspired projects.

This month we are sharing ideas inspired by Florals and I decided to reach for the Impressions Abloom Bundle with a Berry Burst, Secret Sea and Gold Foil Combo.

The florals and leaves were die cut from watercolour card stock, these dies also added an embossed impression to them as they are cut, which adds such pretty texture.

I added plain water to each of the die cut pieces and then added on the ink colour with a paint brush and ink, I started with a light wash of colour all over the die cut pieces and then tapped on a stronger value of the ink colour on the edges or wherever I wanted them to be much darker. I then left all of the pieces to dry throughly.

Handmade greeting card featuring vibrant, three-dimensional pink and magenta flowers with glittery gold centers, set against a pink oval background with gold trim. The card has a textured navy blue base with embossed floral patterns and a sentiment strip that reads "lots of love" in white text. Blue paper leaves accent the floral arrangement. The card is signed by Emma Goddard from coastalcrafter.com.

Whilst the florals were drying I added some of the Berry Burst Ink with a blending brush to the oval die to build up the colour around the edges. Once the ink was even all over I have splattered some plain water over the blended panel and lifted this with a paper towel to create the water dots.

Once the flowers were all dry these have then been layered together with glue dots and I have added the centres with the gold drusy dots.

The front panel was embossed with the Pressed Flowers folder for some subtle texture and the sentiment has come from the More Messages bundle. This is such a brilliant bundle for creating a whole selection of sentiments.
