Colour Fusers Blog Hop – Jan 2026

Welcome to this month’s Colour Fusers Blog Hop!

This month, we’re working with a soft colour palette: Petal Pink, Lost Lagoon and Gold Foil. I had the Lovely and Beautiful Designer Series paper on my desk which has quite a lot of Petal Pink in them, so decided to use this bundle for my project.

I started by building watercolour layers for the background. I firstly added a soft light wash of Petal Pink across most of the card. As each layer dried fully I was able to build the next layer on top until I reached the top of the card with the most of amount of layers and pigment built up. Although it has been super-speed up, I have recorded and shared an IG reel to show the process of building up the layers of colours.

The large flower is from the Simply Beautiful Stamp Set has been heat embossed in Gold onto watercolour card stock. The heat embossing creates a slightly raised outline to the flower to help keep the watercolouring within each petal.

There are leaf dies within this bundle but they are smaller individual leaves and I wanted more of a flourish of leaves. So I reached for the new Nature’s Symphony Dies which has a large leaf die, which I cut from the Gold Foil.

To finish the card, I cut the White with Gold Ribbon along the length of the ribbon to create a thinner piece and tied this into a bow with a piece of Linen Thread. The sentiment was from Lovely Arrangements, and is a really good size Happy Birthday sentiment.
