Picture Perfect Birthday – The Crafty Carrot Co

In Birthday by Emma Goddard10 Comments

Hello and welcome! Today I am absolutely delighted to be joining the amazing Crafty Carrot Collective as a Guest Designer!

So what does being a Guest Designer mean? …This means I get to take part in this blog hop with these 4 lovely and super talented ladies, plus I will be sharing a tutorial as a part of the Crafty Carrot Co’ June Programme. I cannot wait to share my tutorial with everyone who is a part of that group (the project/s will be different to this hop) but still using the Picture Perfect Birthday set and the NEW In-Colours for 2018-2020.

Aren’t these colours just lovely? They are so bright and vibrant! They not only look great together, but I they will compliment and make up so many other colour combos with the rest of the colour families.

For the background I have used the all the ink colours to add watercolour stripes to the base & let this dry. On another piece of watercolour cardstock, I have also embossed the candles (x3) and the sentiment (‘Cure the Confetti’) all in White Embossing Powder and then watercolored over the top to colour. Once dry I have added a touch of multipurpose glue to the flames and added glitter to them for extra sparkle! Once dry, I have then fussy cut them out, ready to layer on with mini dimentionals.

I have then got punch happy with the 1/8″ (3.2mm) handheld punch in all the In-Colour cardstock to make the confetti. The layer of vellum has been stitched on with my sewing machine firstly around the two sides and across the bottom, to enable me to add in the confetti, once added I have them closed with more stitching over the top.

The two lengths of Whisper White thread has been stuck to the back of the card on the right hand side (using tear and tape) and I have left the length long enough to come around the front and tie into a bow… but at this point in making the card I have left them hanging to the side for a moment.

The next step was to add the base to the front of the card (using tear and tape). I have then added 1/2 a Pearlised Doily (from the Share What You Love bundle) with 1/2 a Stitched Circle. These are on Dimensionals to raise it up from the card.

On the right side of the circle I have punched a hold (using the same punch as above for the confetti), and then tied the white twine through this hold to add the bow.

To complete the card I have layered on the candles, the sentiment and a few extra rhinestones.

I am now sending you over to the lovely Cindy Schuster at Nutmeg Creations, be sure to hop all the way around as I know all the ladies will be sharing some amazing makes with this set & new colours – enjoy!
