Rooted in Nature meets Watercolours

In Rooted in Nature by Emma Goddard1 Comment

Hi,

So this week is Half Term in the UK and currently pouring with rain so we are having a lazy morning inside! So, I thought I would take the opportunity to get this blog post out to you all with this card I made as swap. These were postal swaps I participated in with the fabulous Stampin’ Creative ladies, and can’t wait to share them all with you – more on these later this week :)

For my card I started with the background and to create this I have used watercolour card and added a little water where I wanted the background to be, then I have added a touch of each of the green inks, which are Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover.
Thinking of you using the Rooted in Nature Set and Dies

I have then cut out and embossed the leaves in the same colour card stock. To achieve the cooper embossing I have ‘smooshed’ the leave into the versamark pad and then added the copper embossing powder and heated. (To see this technique you can check out my Facebook videos – link below) Once the background was completely dry and I have then stamped the sentiment in versamark and embossed in copper.

The next step was to sew on the leaves, I have used my sewing machine to do this, but if you didn’t have a machine you could add some hand stitching if you wanted to or simply glue on the leaves, as I have done on this pink version.

If you would like to see this card being made you can check out all my FB lives HERE & this one was made on Sunday 27th May – Enjoy!

That’s all from me for today, but I shall be back tomorrow with another Inspire.Create Challenge and this fortnight we are being Inspired by the new In-Colours!

  1. I love your color choices, your watercolor background, and your random smoosh and gold embossed leaves. Everything came together so beautifully. Thanks for sharing!
