A very warm welcome to our June Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! This month we are sharing with you the Come Sail Away Suite. I was so excited to find out we would be using this suite as it is one of my TOP picks from this annual catalogue, I just love it!
I live down on the South Coast of England (hence my Blog name Coastal Crafter) so anything with boats and nautical will always catch my eye! Plus this is a fabulous set for more masculine cards, but as you will see, for this hop I have made my cards with a more feminine twist!
Here are some sneak peeks of all 16 projects! Be sure to hop on around everyones blogs and get all the details and the close ups, you will not want to miss them!! …all the projects are just amazing
For my cards, I have teamed up Gold Glimmer, Sahara Sand and Rococo Rose for my feminine twist on this stamp set and dies.
I have firstly started with a watercolour wash of Rococo Rose and then used one of the die cuts from the Memories and More packs, this lazer cut piece was originally white, so I have sponged on some Sahara Sand Ink. I have then stamped and die cut the rope, boat and anchor in Rococo Rose, as well as die cutting out some pieces in the Gold Glimmer. These have all be layers behind the sentiment label and finished off with some of the twine and one of the Sail Away Trinkets.
For this next piece I have punch a circle in Sahara Sand cardstock and then die cut out with the largest circle from the Stitched Shape Framelit. Once cut out I have added the Metallic Brads around the circle. I then sponged with Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing powder around the edges and because the brads were added first they also picked up some of the embossing powder to make them look more aged.
The fine seaweed is cut out of the memories and more card pack and sponges with Rococo Rose ink. You only get one of these cards in the Memories and More packs, so unless you purchase multiple packs you won’t be able to batch make this card – it would be a one off special card. However, if you wanted to make multiples, you could replace this with the die cut seaweed and make as many of these as you would wish!
I have also added some touched of the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Twine (Separating the Sahara Sand from the twine) & a small piece of the Scalloped Lace Trim for even more texture.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to give a different colour choice a go?
