Global Design Project #GDP243

Happy Monday!

Today I am sharing my card for the Global Design Project Challenge #GDP243, where we are inspiring you with a theme:

I knew right away that I wanted to grab out these super cute gold hoops and make a floral wreath for this theme. I have been desperate to use these since I placed my demonstrator pre-order and this was the perfect opportunity. These hoops measure approx 2″ so not huge, but the perfect card front size.

I have layered the Stitched Rectangle with an embossed piece of Sahara Sand. The embossing folder is a new mini folder and is from the Greenery Set. I have cut the Sahara Sand panel to measure 4 5/8″ x 3 1/4″, which fits just inside one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I have tied on the hoop with the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack & then layered on the flowers and wooden embellishment using glue dots.

The flowers are a mix and match from the new Jar of Flowers Stamp Set. I have stamped out 3 of the 4 images in Memento Ink and picked out a selection of flowers to colour with the Blends.

To complete the card I have added a sentiment. For this I have chosen the sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set “Lets Celebrate You”. I have heat embossed in white on to Melon Mambo Cardstock and fussy cut out the image. Once cut out, I have layered this on top of the wreath with a few glue dots.

  1. Since I live in Plymouth, MA, I wondered where the Coastal Crafter who makes such beautiful cards lives. This card is so lovely and current. I believe you might say, using the hoop in your design is brilliant!!
Things here in the USA are not so brilliant to say the least. Card making is a blessing amid the turmoil.
Wishing you a lovely day in the UK!

  2. This is so pretty!! I love the delicate looking flowers you chose to color and use on that gold hoop. Such a unique way to create a wreath. LOVE it!!
