Looking for a stunning handmade birthday card idea using heat embossing and watercolour techniques? This Arched Wishes Easel Card was a custom request from a colleague for her friend’s special celebration, and I was thrilled to make it for her!

Handmade Birthday Card Details: Pink Theme with Gold Embossing
This handmade card features a lovely pink color palette, enhanced with gold heat embossing and Pool Party ink blending. I used my favourite watercolouring technique to bring life to the floral images and added balloons and a large cupcake to match the festive birthday theme.

- Gold heat embossing using Versamark and embossing powder

- Embellished with glimmer paper, gold sequins, and twisted gold thread
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Stamp & Emboss:
I stamped all the images from Gallery Blooms, Arched Wishes, and Birthday Celebrations stamp sets using Versamark ink on watercolour cardstock. Then I heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder. - Watercolour & Blend:
Using a blend of three pink inks, I painted the flowers and details. The background was softly blended using Pool Party ink and a mask for a subtle background. - Fussy Cut & Assemble:
All stamped and painted images were hand-cut with scissors. I adhered them to the card front using a mix of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots to create depth and dimension. - Finishing Touches:
For added sparkle and texture, I included Gold Sequins and Twisted Gold Thread. These details make the card shine and add an elegant touch!
Card Measurements
Card Base – Thick Basic White Cardstock (for sturdiness):
- A4 Size:
- Cut: 29.7cm x 10cm
- Score on the long side at 14.8cm and 10.4cm
- Letter Size (Imperial):
- Cut: 11″ x 3 7/8″
- Score on the long side at 5 1/2″ and 2 3/4″
Front Panel (Arch Shape):
Use the largest Arched Die to create the front easel panel. To create the arched border, die cut both the 3 7/8″ wide and 3 3/4″ arches from Basic White cardstock. Pop this border up on dimensionals for added height.
