August Scrapbooking

Hello – Hope everyone had a great Bank Holiday

Last week I held the first (of hopefully) a monthly Scrapbook Class – I have decided to run a regular evening with set projects/layouts. The layouts created are then ready to just add your own photos – so you don’t necessarily have to have them printed and ready for class.

Both layouts were created using 12″ x 12″ Crumb Cake card stock as a base with accents of Epic Day DSP with coordinating card stock colours (Basic Gray, and Gumball Green)

Layout One. The background has been made using a paper Tea lace Paper Doily as a stencil (Thank you Natalie O’Shea for sharing this technique) I have held the Doily down against the card and used a Sponge Dauber with Crumb-Cake Ink to rub the outside edges…..once all covered! lift away :) I have then stamped (also in Crumb Cake) the Delicate Doilies largest image in the Centre of the Doily stencilled image.

Then using 2 of the other Delicate Doilies Stamps I have randomly stamped (again, in Crumb Cake Ink) from the top left to bottom right of the page. Although some of  this will be covered by the photo sections I have stamped across the whole page as I find this easier than trying to work out which bits will be seen.

The words on both layouts are from the Happy Day set (in Black Staz-On), which has been getting lots of use lately! I have been using it a lot on cards, but I also think it is a perfect set for Scrapbook pages.

The banner has been made up using the Petite Pennants Builder punch (in layers of Epic Day DSP and Basic Gray card stock). The boarder on the Calypso Coral sheet of DSP had been punched using the Scallop Trim Border punch.

Layout Two. The background has been stamped using the Flowering Flourishes in Craft White Ink. Once stamped and left for a minute to dry, I have then added the Swallowtail stamp on both sides of the page (stamped in black Staz-On).

The square layers are a combination of Gumball Green and Whisper White card stock which have been layered using a Tea lace Paper Doily and a strip of Epic Day DSP. The Butterflies have been punched and layered from the Bitty Butterfly punch (in Basic Gray) and the Elegant Butterfly punch (in the Epic Day DSP).

If you’d like to come along to any of the Scrapbook evenings, all the event dates and times will be posted on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/coastalcrafter). They are all held in Littlehampton (West Sussex) area.

Hope you like them – Have a great week

Emma
