Basket of Blooms

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing with you three cards using the Basket of Blooms Stamp Set (#153305). These were posted as a part of the Stampin’ Up corporate blog post earlier in the year and I realised I hadn’t yet shared them here with you.

The first step was to create the background. This was created by randomly stamping the large leaf image all over a full sheet of Whisper White Cardstock (#106549). Once the stamping was complete, I then used a pencil and a ruler to draw in some grid lines over the paper. The step was for lots of relaxing colouring to fill in each of the shapes. To colour the blocks I have used Stampin’ Blends Combos in Mossy Meadow (#154890), Daffodil Delight (#154883), Cinnamon Cider (#153105), and Just Jade (#153107)

The background was then cut into quarters and trimmed to fit the front of each card base (10.2cm x 14.5cm or 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” depending on country) I have stamped out the ‘Happy B.Day’ sentiment (3 times, 1 for each card) from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set (#152539) in Memento Ink (#132708) and trimmed this down to the outside of the line on the stamp image.

The basket image and a handful of the flowers and leaves were all stamped in Memento Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and coloured using the coordinating blends. Once they have all been coloured, they have then been cut out and added to the inside of the basket.

The centre panel has been added using Whisper White Cardstock and the Stitched Nested Labels (#149638). The basket has then been popped up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) for a little extra depth. To complete this card, I have added a bow using the Linen Thread (#104199)

For this next card I have added a background and the same Stitched Nested Label Die and sentiment. The plant pot has been coloured using the Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends Combo and popped up on dimensionals. The leaves and flowers have again been stamped out and coloured with the coordinating blends and added to the flowerpot. I have used the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (#152480) for the centre of the flowers

This next card was made in the same way as the previous cards, however I wanted to share with you the tip for creating the spotty vase. I coloured the main image using the light blend, and then added the spots with the smaller tip and the dark shade of the same colour blend.

I absolutely loved sharing these cards with you and hope I have inspired you to create some fun backgrounds with your stamps and blends!
