Colour Fusers Blog Hop – August 2026

In Colour Challenge, Stampin' Up! by Emma GoddardLeave a Comment

Welcome to this month’s Colour Fusers Blog Hop!

Our colour combination for August 2026 is: Pool Party, Secret Sea, Lemon Lime Twist.

I am slightly obsessed with Hot Foiling and couldn’t resist adding a large Classic Greetings in silver foil to this card. I knew when I was creating with this colour combination that I wanted this card to be a celebration because I needed a few extra on hand to send out to some of my amazing Stampin’ Starfish Team.

Handmade card featuring navy floral line art stamped across Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and Secret Sea card stock, made using the Sweetly Sentimental focus product. A die cut 'celebrate!' sentiment in silver foil sits above a strip reading 'to a friend worth celebrating', with Pool Party enamel dot accents, on a white card base.

How I put it together

I started with the stripes, as I think they’re what make this card. I cut multiple strips of each colour, Pool Party, Secret Sea and Lemon Lime Twist, at roughly 9cm x 1cm, then layered them one by one onto a Basic White panel. Once everything was glued down, I trimmed the panel to neaten up the edges and get everything nice and crisp.

Next came the stamping. I inked up the Sweetly Sentimental Stamp Set in Secret Sea and stamped the floral image a couple of times across the front of the stripy panel. Stamping directly onto the stripes rather than a plain background gives the whole thing a bit more texture and interest.

To finish, I created the “celebrate!” with the Hot Foil Dies for some extra shine. Popping both sentiments up on dimensionals gives lovely extra depth and makes the focal sentiment stand out against the stripes underneath.

I used a few of the Pool Party Shimmering Dots to complete the card, and add a little extra sparkle!

This is such an easy card making project to recreate if you’re after a quick but striking way to use up striped scraps, and it’s endlessly customisable for other colour combinations too. If you give this technique a go, I’d love to see which colour combination you choose.

Enjoy the rest of the hop
