Colour Fusers Blog Hop – July 2024

I have had the pleasure of being invited on to the Color Fusers Blog Hop and this is the first blog hop I am joining them for. This Color Fuser Blog Hop will take place on the first Monday of each month and will feature a colour combination to inspire you.

What is a blog hop?

Essentially a blog hop is a group of people who are collaborating together to share lots of inspiration with you. You will find a link to the next and previous blog posts at the bottom of this blog, which means you can circle around through all of the inspiration from the Color Fuser Team.

For July 2024 the colours for our hop is White, Black and a Colour of your choice, and for my pick of colour I have added a pop of Pink with Melon Mambo.

How to create this card…

I started creating my card with the background panel. the first step was to stamp out the large floral image in Memento and then add Melon Mambo Ink with a Blending Brush. A Blending Brush allows you to build up the colour and create this ombre look. Once the ink was built up to the depth of colour I wanted, I then splattered the Wink of Stella and some water drops with an Aqua Painter, and allowed this to dry. This panel was cut to 14.5cm x 5cm.

On a scrap piece of Basic White paper I drew some thick black stripes with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, and cut this out to a 14.5cm x 2cm piece. This was adhered behind the stamped panel with some Seal +.

The background panel measures 14.5cm x 10.2cm and had been embossed with the Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder, a super useful addition to your stash! This has been glued onto the Thick Basic White standard card base (21cm x 14.8cm – Scored in half at 10.5cm). I have then used dimensionals to pop up the panel on the front of the embossed layer.

The next step was to stamp out the large flower and x3 of the smallest single flower and colour this with Melon Mambo Blends, once coloured, they were cut out ready to add on the front. I also die cut out x3 of the largest leaves from the dies in Basic White.

The ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment is from the very useful Simply Said Stamp Set, if you don’t have this in your collection yet, I can highly recommend this, I have used it loads! This was heat embossed in White onto Basic Black card stock and cut out with the trimmer.

I have used glue dots to pop the leaves behind the large flower and then adhered this with some dimensionals. The small flowers have been added on with some glue dots and the sentiment has also been added with a few dimensionals.

The card has been completed with some of the Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems which have a mix of 40 of each black, champagne, white in the packet.

I am now sending you on over to the lovely Stacey Marsh who I know will have fabulous inspiration for you. Be sure to clock the link to hop all the way around the hop too see all of the different ideas with this colour combination.
