Hello,
So this is my entry to the latest Global Design Project, and this weeks theme is ‘Nautical’ which was right up my street.
I recently made a card using the lighthouse from the ‘From land to sea’ set and I knew this was my go to nautical set. I just love the bold Dapper Denim stripes of By the Shore paper & wanted to recreate the background of dark blue stripes in some way.
So for this card I have made my own background using the thick water colour brush and Night of Navy Ink giving a dark watercolour look. The centre section is a shaker square using some of the sand which I have in a vase from our Wedding day. I know this version is a Birthday card but also think this would make a great anniversary card? but that’s not until next May so have time yet to plan for that card.
The shells and rope have been stamped in Crumb Cake ink and hand cut and the Happy Birthday is from the very useful set ‘Thoughtful Banners’ which has lots of different sentiments to choose from.
I love taking part in the weekly challenges when I can, it gets me thinking outside of my comfort zone but also a chance to hop around other peoples blogs and see what they have created with the same starting point of a sketch, theme etc. It is open to any one and Kylie Bertucci has this week put up a video of how you can join in the fun even without a blog. Why not take a look HERE?
If you’d like to re-create this card this is the supplies I have used. You can shop online with me 24/7. Don’t forget to use the August Code for orders over £25 to receive a gift from me next month.
