Lets Celebrate the new year!
I want to say a HUGE thank you to each and EVERYONE of you!! I absolutely love sharing with you all and have made so many fabulous friends through running classes and sharing my love of Stampin’ Up! and I’m so excited for sharing even more with you in 2018!
I’m not making any specific New Years resolutions, but it always feels like a good time of year to reflect and plan for the year ahead. This year, as you know, I applied and was chosen as one of the Artisan Design Team 2018 (still pinching myself!!) and so next year I will be sharing LOTS more makes and projects with you over here on my blog so be sure to subscribe if you don’t want to miss out. I will of course also be continuing with my Facebook Live crafting on a Sunday evening at 8pm (GMT), designing for the Inspire.Create challenge blog and holding regular classes each month.
Tonight I am sharing my New Years card with you all and this is also an entry into the Global Design Project (GDP) challenge. I know I say this quite a lot, but if your goal for this year is to blog more or start blogging then entering a blog challenge such as the Global Design Project or Inspire.Create challenges is a really great focus to help this happen.
The theme set for the Global Design Project challenge #GDP119 is Home for the Holidays.
I am very lucky to have been at home for the Holiday with my lovely family and have plenty of time for relaxing and recharging the batteries, this also meant some time crafting and playing with pre order goodies ahead of the launch of the new catalogue on the 3rd Jan 2018 so decided to join in with the GDP challenge :)
I recently made a birthday card using this set which you can see HERE, so thought I would change it up a little for a New Years card. I have stamped the same background using the new Sale-A-Bration set Amazing You in different colours (I have used Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight) so they look more like fireworks.
I have then stitched (using my machine) a layer of vellum on the background, leaving the top section open for pouring in some of the glitter. Once I have added the glitter I then completed the stitching. This layer was added to the Melon Mambo card base using fast fuse.
LOVE these glitter flakes!!!! Need I say any more about these?!
To achieve the gold embossing on the Celebrate I used versa mark on half of the die and then added the powder.
The ‘Celebrate’ is also a die which is one of the fabulous Sale-A-Bration items you are going to be able to earn during the upcoming promotion. This is already my most used Sale-A-Bration item and one which is well worth adding to your collection! Great for so many cards and occasions.
I shall leave you with a little poem I found on Pinterest (This is originally from Lyssa over at http://songofmyheartstampers.typepad.com – Thank you!) and wanted to share with you for the year ahead.
Happy New Year & all the very best of health and happiness for 2018!
Stampin’ Hugs – Emma
