Morning all,
Today I am sharing a Baby Shower card I made for my lovely niece Becki.
The starting point for this card was to purchase and download the Baby We’ve Grown brush set, great value at £3.50.
I knew I wanted this card to be bigger than ‘normal’ so the base is made from a whole sheet of A4 melon mambo card stock just folded in half, I then worked out the sizing of the layers from this point. The great thing about MDS is it enables you to make your images a big or small as you’d like.
I started with the Oh, Baby sentiment and stretched to fit the appropriate size, and then used the colour tool in MDS to colour the sentiment in Melon Mambo, I also changed the dummy into Smokey Slate. I then added the bunny, which I re-sized & positioned so it was sitting on top of words (I changed the bunny outline to Smoky Slate too).
This was printed onto A4 Whisper White card stock and cut to size. The bunny and dummy has been coloured using the blender pen & coordinating inks. Once this was complete I used 2 sponge daubers to make the background. Each dauber was inked up (Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate) always starting at the top with the darker ink, this gave the faded effect as it goes down the page – this was layered on the Smoky Slate Card stock.
With a few gems and candy dots to finish, I just can’t help myself when it comes to gems most of my cards end up with a little sparkle
I then started a new blank A4 page in My Digital Studio (MDS) and positioned a pair of the girly shoes and printed on normal copy paper for the coordinating card insert (& a couple more gems!) …
Thank you for stopping by – Emma
