Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Aug 18

In Christmas by Emma Goddard5 Comments

Hi all and welcome to another Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop.

For today’s hop the Stampin’ Creative team and guests (….a warm welcome to Fiona and Mary!) are sharing some sneak peeks with you. We are FAST approaching Sept which means the launch of the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

We have some festive and non-festive creations as you hop around, as I know for some people it is too early to talk Christmas, let along start making Christmas cards, but if you are making your own cards it starts early so that you have time to design and make all your cards and projects over the next few months ready to use in December.

For this sneak peek hop I am sharing a couple of cards, both the same design but in two different colour ways. The first card is using some traditional reds and greens and the colours I have chosen are Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce and Gold

The background is using the Artisan Textures in Shaded Spruce, with stamped splatters from this set in the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint and finished with a layer of Shimmery White Embossing Paste. To stamp with the shimmer paint you simply use a sponge dauber to apply the paint to the stamp.

I have then stamped out the Tags and Tiding Stamp in Memento ink, to be able to colour with the blends. I have picked out some of the images and coloured them in the Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce blends and die cut out the shapes and then cut off some of the tag loops to make them into small card embellishments.

For the second card I have used Pool Party, Night of Navy and Silver. The card has been made in exactly the same way using the different colour combinations. For this card I have stamped with the Champagne Mist but over the Night of Navy it is a more subtle effect than the gold paint on the card above.

Did you notice the Gold and Silver edge on the cards? These are NEW foiled edge cards which are just perfect for Christmas cards but I know they would be just lovely for all year round too. These come in packs of 20 cards plus they have coordinating envelopes! Quick and easy for a great look!

Be sure to hop on around the whole team and our two guests as I know they will have plenty of ideas in store for you all – Enjoy!
