This month we are so lucky to have 2 fabulous guest designers Charlet Mallet (you can find more from Charlet over on her blog HERE) and Sandra Roberts (you can find more from Sandra over on her blog HERE) joining our crew. So whether you have joined from the lovely Sandra or join me at the start of the hop be sure to pop around to all the blogs for plenty of beautiful makes. This months these is from the garden so really excited to see everyone interpretation of this theme.
I have gone with pastels and flowers, and I am hoping by me making lots of flower themed cards recently I will encourage Spring to arrive! lol
The background to this card was hand painted using the largest Aqua Painter with Blushing Bride Ink. I have taken the piece of watercolour paper and painted stripes over the background of this card, I have done this before in Night of Navy so thought I would revisit this technique in a different colour way.
The ribbons (White Organza & Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon) has been added to the background with the largest stitched square framelit over the top. I have then used the leave die from the Petals and More Thinlits with Whisper White & teamed this up with an older set from the main catalogue, Colorful Seasons, for the cherry blossom.
The cherry blossom has been stamped in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake and fussy cut out – I have replicated this on the Hexagonal Gift Box.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set Eclectic Expressions, this sentiment is a complete word but I have cut this into individual letters to lay it out differently. The ‘For you’ is also from a Sale-a-Bration set Happy Wishes, this set has LOT of sentiments and the script writing is super pretty. I have fussy cut these words out and tucked them into the branch for a more subtle look.
This box is made from the Window Box Thinlits, such a great size box for a coordinating gift. The main box has been cut out and assembled in Thick Whisper White and decorated to coordinate with the card. I have used another piece of watercolour cardstock to paint stripes on the background, and once dry I have die cut out the small Stitched Square Framelits (x6) to add to each side panel.
To finish off both the cards and the box I have added a few sparkles from the Iridescent Sequins.
