Inspire.Create – Sketch Challenge #20

In Time for Tea by Emma Goddard1 Comment

Welcome to challenge #20! For this fortnight over at the Inspire.Create Challenges we are being inspired by this sketch and I have being playing with the new Time for Tea set.

For my card I have used the flowers from the Time for Tea and the sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday set. I love that this sentiment is the perfect fit with any floral stamp sets in your stash!

I have randomly stamped the floral image in Staz-On Black over the Whisper White and coloured over with the Sponge Brayer in Gorgeous Grape. This panel was cut out from the coloured piece of cardstock – cut to 4cm x 14.5cm.

I have stamped two different flower images from this set along the border of the front panel (10.2cm x 14.5cm) and used the in-fill stamped to ‘colour’ these. This two step stamping makes it so quick and easy to add colour to these stamps.

I have then added a strip of Pick a Pattern washi tape and the coloured panel.

The next step was to stamp the sentiment in Versamark and emboss in white, and trim down to leave a small border around the sentiment. To add a little interest I have tied on the sentiment panel by punching a couple of holes in either side of the basic black panel using the 1/8″ handheld circle punch.

To finish off I have added a couple of Faceted Dots in Blackberry Bliss which I think also works really well with the Gorgeous Grape. Hope you will also give this sketch a try to inspire one of your makes? We would love to see them, so be sure to share your link over on the Inspire. Create blog! You can also see all of the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, that’s all from me today but be sure to stop by again tomorrow for the June Artisan Blog Hop.
